Orcia Rosso
The recent Controlled Designation of Origin Orcia rosso suggested to us the possibility of a variation on the pure Sangiovese theme to create a new wine that through its own characteristics best expresses the essence of one of the territories most closely related to Tuscany, the Val d' Orcia.
Taking advantage of the great character and powerful body of a vine that has made history, here in Montalcino, one of the most appreciated wines in the world was born "Abelardo".

Abelardo Azzolini was born on 10 May 1854 in Cortemaggiore and, after living in various parts of Italy, he settled, at the beginning of the 20th century, definitively in the province of Siena, in Montepulciano, also a land of great wine. Here he worked as a high school physical education teacher until his retirement, dedicating his free time both to caring for his family and his four sons and to the passion he had for the great quality wines that he personally selected and sent to relatives and acquaintances from his homeland, obtaining moral and, why not, also economic satisfaction.
This wine is dedicated to him, our children's great-grandfather.
